Joel B. Fralick, Jr.
Registered Nurse, BSN
Ten years of building compliant, high-performing teams in regulated, high-stakes environments — now applied one patient, one discharge plan at a time.
About
I didn't take a straight line to nursing.
I started out studying communication and journalism, ran restaurant kitchens and dining rooms, then spent two years with City Year (AmeriCorps) managing teams of corps members in under-resourced schools across Brooklyn, Chicago, and Washington, D.C. From there I moved into regulated operations — running compliance programs and, eventually, leading new-market license acquisition as a Director of Operations for a multi-state manufacturer, working directly with executive leadership through audits, inspections, and high-stakes expansion.
Somewhere in the middle of all that, I realized the work I cared most about was the work that happened one person at a time. So I went back to school. I started as a Patient Care Technician on a 44-bed trauma unit, became a Registered Nurse in the ER, and now coordinate care transitions as a Case Management RN — while finishing my MSN in Nursing Informatics at Western Governors University.
The throughline, if there is one: build systems that work for the people inside them — whether that's a compliance program, a classroom, or a discharge plan.
